PURPOSE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: The UC ANR Staff Assembly is committed to supporting career training and professional development opportunities for ANR staff to further career advancement. The UC ANR Staff Assembly has established a scholarship program to provide financial assistance to UC ANR Staff to pursue career interests, develop new career paths, and address knowledge or skill gaps needed to reach professional development goals. In this brief application form, you will be asked to explain what assistance you seek and why you are seeking it.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must be a UC ANR career staff employee (past probationary period of employment status) and in good standing (not in process of corrective action).
2016-17 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM MECHANICS: The program applies to the 2016-17 university fiscal year. Applications will be accepted any time before March 30, 2017. Applications will be accepted for training or conferences that occurred after July 1, 2016 and completed before April 30, 2017, so applications may be backdated. The applications will be reviewed and recipients selected by the Staff Assembly Council based on the merit of the request and a decision made by April 30, 2017. Scholarship award amounts may vary depending on the amount of funding available and number of recipients. The maximum amount for any award is $1,500. Typical training opportunities that can be funded are courses offered by UC extension or other extension programs, or conference or workshop registration fees. Travel such as airfare, rental car, hotel, or meals cannot be reimbursed.
This is a reimbursement program. Reimbursement will require an invoice or receipt showing payment for the course, and evidence of satisfactory course completion. Upon completion of the survey, please email your required supporting documentation to Matt Baur (firstname.lastname@example.org).
If you have any questions about the program, please post them at staffassembly.ucanr.edu.
